Student Identification Number (SID)

Your student identification number (SID) is a number assigned to you at the time of your admission. If your SID is the same as your Social Security Number (SSN) you may wish to change it. Below are instructions for both changing and correcting your SID.

Change your SID:

Bring picture identification, during regular office hours, to the Administration Building Room 210 and complete the Request for Change of Personal Information form.

  • Foreign students: An authorized individual from the International Student Programs and Services Office will need to sign your Request for Change of Personal Information form before it will be accepted.
  • Changes are completed overnight (provided the request was submitted by 4:00 p.m.).

Correct your SID:

To correct your SID on your University record, please do one of the following:

  • Bring your Social Security card and picture identification, during regular office hours, to the Administration Building Room 210 and complete the Request for Change of Personal Information form.
  • Mail a copy of your Social Security card and a copy of photo identification (such as a driver’s license) along with a short letter (including your signature) asking that your student identification number be corrected to: Office of Registration and Transcripts, Administration Building, PO Box 210066, Tucson AZ 85721-0066.
