Grading Policy Manual: University Academic Grading Policies -- Administrative Drops/Reinstatements

Administrative Drops: Instructors provide students with written statements of their own policies with respect to absences.   Excessive or extended absence from class is sufficient reason for an instructor to recommend that a student be administratively dropped from the course.

If this action is filed with the Office of the Registrar prior to the deadline to drop courses using WebReg, the course registration will be removed from the student's academic record.

If this action is filed with the Office of the Registrar sometime during the fifth through eighth weeks, a grade of "W' or "E" will be awarded.

Administrative drops cannot occur after the eighth week.

Administrative Reinstatements: When instructors administratively drop students from a class section, they may administratively reinstate those students in the same class section until the last day of classes for the term.
