Making Changes to Existing Academic Unit

Deletions, simple merger, transfer, and renaming of organizational units may be initiated by submission of the Guidelines for Requesting Changes to an Organizational Unit (deletions, simple merger, transfer, and renaming) to the Curriculum Office, Attn: Sandra Gonzales.

Before a request to disestablish or rename existing units will be reviewed by ABOR, the proposal must be reviewed and approved by the following people or committees:

Units that offer academic programs (usually college, department, school, division)
  • College/department curriculum committee (if applicable)
  • College dean (if applicable)
  • Curriculum Office
  • Undergraduate Council
  • Graduate Council
  • Provost's Office
  • Provost's Management Group
  • Academic Deans
  • ICPC
  • Faculty Senate
  • UA, ASU, NAU Chief Academic Officers (CAO)
